PhD Student Effie Karyda Wins Poster Award at EBSA 2025

Effie Karyda, a PhD researcher at the Skretas Lab (BSRC “Alexander Fleming”), received a Poster Award at the 15th European Biophysics Congress (EBSA 2025) for her research on peptide-based strategies targeting protein misfolding in crystallin proteins, a key mechanism involved in the development of eye cataracts.

The project was carried out in collaboration with the VIB Switch Laboratory (VIB–KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research) and was supported by the Boost4Bio ERA Chair initiative, which provides an advanced training and research environment for early-career scientists in biomolecular engineering and synthetic biology.

🎯 This recognition reflects the impact of international scientific partnerships and capacity-building actions promoted through Boost4Bio, Twin4Promis, and ERC-funded research.

We warmly congratulate Effie on this well-deserved distinction and look forward to sharing more milestones from the Boost4Bio research community!
