From March 28 to 30, 2025, the city of Alexandroupoli, Greece, welcomed the 3rd Panhellenic Student Conference of Bioscientists—an inspiring event organized by students in the field of biosciences. The conference brought together participants from across the country to share knowledge, explore new ideas, and connect around the evolving world of biosciences.
The Biomedical Sciences Research Center “Alexander Fleming” (BSRC Fleming) was represented by two of its researchers, who contributed valuable scientific perspectives to the students.
Dr. Georgios Skretas, Director of Research at the Institute of Bioinnovation, gave a talk entitled “Beneficial microbes as platforms for the discovery of novel, effective pharmaceuticals” highlighting how microbial systems can be leveraged in the development of next-generation therapeutics.

Dr. Georgios Paulopoulos, Research Director at the Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology Lab, presented on “Decoding the planetary microbiome with large-scale bioinformatics”, exploring the role of computational tools in advancing our understanding of microbial ecosystems.

Boost4Bio would like to congratulate all the students involved in the organizing committee for their dedication in delivering such an engaging conference! Here’s to what comes next!
